Setup CHROME service handler to use Gmail for Banner Class Roster Emailing

If you are having trouble emailing your entire class roster from within Banner Class List, Follow the steps below to ensure that Google Chrome and Gmail is setup as your default Email service handler.

FIRST SECTION - Ensure that the Default MAIL APP in Windows is set to "Chrome".

For Windows 10  Type "default apps" into the windows search bar.  Click Open. Find Email under Apps.  This should be set to "Google Chrome".  If it is, skip to SECOND SECTION of these instructions. If not Click on whatever app appears there (this could say "OUTLOOK" or "FIREFOX" etc...)   and set the new default to "Google Chrome".  Now proceed to the SECOND SECTION of these instructions.

For Windows 11 Type "default apps" into the windows search bar.  Click Open, scroll and then click on Google Chrome in the APPS listing.

Scroll down to “MAILTO”  . This should be set to "Google Chrome".  If it is, skip to SECOND SECTION of these instructions.
IF not, and you see "OUTLOOK" or "EDGE" or anything other than Google Chrome, then Click on the APP is listed, from the pop window select "Google Chrome", then click the blue "Set Default" button to save.

SECOND SECTION Setting Email Handler in Google Chrome
Launch Chrome, Browse to SunyOrange Gmail from the portal.  (Address Bar should read https://mail.google.com/……)

Find and click on the protocol handler icon (looks like two diamonds together - see below photo), set to Allow then click Done

The handler icon should disappear from the address bar.  Next proceed to open Banner Class Roster and email your entire class.

NOTE:  If you do not see the handler icon, CLOSE all your Chrome Browse windows, then re-launch Chrome and Gmail.

If you STILL DO NOT see the Handler Protocol Icon in the CHROME address bar, then see details below on Chrome setting changes that may be needed in order to enable the handler first.
