Academic Lab and Classroom Software Request

This service applies to Faculty & Staff.

Employees may request software for labs and instructor stations in classrooms for teaching purposes.  The ITS Department maintains and updates the required academic software for computer labs, classrooms, instructor stations, Virtual Labs, and student laptop loaners.

A Request is needed for any new or existing software packages or versions, software needed to complete course work, non-standard installation configurations, add-ons and plug-ins, or Textbook/CD software (accompanied with explicit written permission from publisher).

Use the Submit Ticket button to the right to request this service.

ATTENTION:  Annual academic software request submission deadlines are:

  • Fall Semester - Request by August 1
  • Spring Semester – Request by December 1
  • Summer Sessions – Request by May 1

The deadlines are to ensure ample opportunity to secure time in the room to install, test, and configure the software.  If the software is requested and purchased by the dates above, ITS will be able to make certain that the software will be available to you and your students on the first day of class.  Any classroom / lab software requested after the above deadlines may NOT be in installed by the semester start - please plan accordingly.  The IT Dept will make all efforts to install late requested software pending resources and classroom availability.

  • Requested software must be purchased and approved through Information Technical Services (ITS).
  • If the particular software is downloadable and you have the link or instructions from a vendor, please provide it in your request.
  • Software must be compatible with the computers and existing software. The software must also have manufacturer’s support. Technicians from ITS can assist you in determining whether the software is compatible with our lab environment.
  • The software purchase must include enough licenses for all computers in the particular classroom or lab in which the software should be installed. Written documentation must be provided to verify software licenses.  The College strictly adheres to all applicable copyright laws.
  • Trial software may be reviewed but will not be deployed to any room until purchased and ITS has completed the approval process.
  • Free (Zero-cost) software must also be requested through ITS.
  • Outdated software, DOS based applications, or non-compatible software, will not be approved for installation.
  • Only one version of a software package will be installed on a single computer. Multiple versions of the same software application may cause conflicts.
